Amid all the greenery, the colorful splashes of tiger lilies and raspberry bushes are visible. Little hummingbirds flit nimbly from flower to flower, their rapid wing beats of up to 80 per second just a blur of cinnamon brown.
Hummingbirds like this cinnamon-backed fairy can stop in mid-air to slurp the sweet nectar deep from the flower with their long beak. Then the lightweights of only 4g have already disappeared again in the thicket of ferns and leaves.
