Volunteer Education Projects (Walk for the Wild)
In 2016, I joined the Wilderness Team as part of the Environmental Ambassador Program. I wanted to experience the wilderness—which I had only known from stories—up close, explore it, and, above all, help protect it for the long term! The impressions and experiences I gathered in Canada, especially those from the Toba Valley, have stayed with me ever since and had a profound impact on me. After graduating from high school in 2018, I channeled my volunteer efforts into a Federal Volunteer Service position with Wilderness to work more actively toward preserving this unique ecosystem and making a lasting difference in our world. This fundamental mindset has remained with me to this day—it has even become even more firmly rooted and stronger! Now, alongside my studies, I continue to focus primarily on wilderness runs to share my enthusiasm for nature and the environment with students. After all, the temperate rainforests of Western Canada—with their incredibly ancient giant trees and enormous biodiversity—are a natural treasure of our planet that absolutely must be preserved!
