It all began with an enthusiasm for forests with huge trees - today, Wilderness International consists of three sister foundations: one in Peru, Canada and Germany. With one big goal: to protect the last unique forest and wilderness areas of the world forever.
To achieve this, we purchase wilderness areas, legally secure with an entry in the land registry, and protect them for the future.
The purchases are refinanced through donations. They also ensure the long-term protection of the areas and make environmental education projects possible, as well as research about carbon storage and biodiversity in the protected areas.
We are a committed and flexible organization - always striving to use our resources as effectively as possible.
