I come from the Ayacucho-Huamanga region, in the middle of the Andes. During my time with Wilderness International, I have come to understand more and more what our work is all about. I protect the flora and fauna that surrounds us, the animals that must not be hunted, and the huge, ancient trees so that they are not cut down. I like working in the middle of the rainforest because it sustains our lives and provides oxygen for us and all other living creatures. I enjoy traveling with the other forest rangers in our protected areas and love watching the birds we see every day. And I am grateful for my job at Wilderness International.
