Botany Coordinator

I was born and raised in Lima, so I initially had little connection to nature. That changed when I went to university and decided to study forestry, motivated by my curiosity about nature reserves and wildlife. During my first experiences assisting with research projects on bats and their diet, I had to collect and identify plants, and that's how botany came into my life. And it has come to stay.

Since then, I have been an absolute plant fan. I love telling others how incredible plants are and why we should appreciate them more. I'm also passionate about ecology because it highlights how important plants are: they sustain wildlife, us humans, and the entire ecosystem through the services they provide.

For this reason, the importance of protecting the Amazon is undeniable. That's why I want to contribute to its protection by training volunteers, forest guardians, and anyone else who is willing to learn.
