Science & Research
I grew up on the coast of Antofagasta, in the desert in northern Chile, where I have been fascinated by nature and the landscapes around me since childhood. I spent hours exploring the area, observing insects, collecting spiders, and discovering the diversity hidden in the desert and the sea.
Over the years, this curiosity became a vocation: I studied environmental management and specialized in ecology, which gave me the opportunity to work in desert and temperate ecosystems, and now also in tropical and boreal ones. I enjoy combining fieldwork with the analysis, modeling, and management of ecological data.
My research focuses on the interactions between insects and plants, particularly in agroecological and grazing systems. My goal is to contribute to translating scientific findings into concrete measures for the protection and conservation of nature.
