Since 2025, Renée Leising has been working with Packwork in collaboration with Wilderness International to old-growth forest protection Peru and Canada. With every dog walk, the dog walker and caretaker from Mainz now protects 1 m² of threatened wilderness in western Canada—where the wild relatives of her four-legged charges find a safe home forever.

Since 2018, Renée Leising has been offering dog walking, dog care, and nutrition advice with heart and passion in Mainz and the surrounding area with Packwork - Rudeln mit Leidenschaft (Packwork - Packing with Passion). The trained dog trainer and certified pet psychologist not only promotes the well-being of her charges locally with her animal tours, but also a stable climate and biodiversity in western Canada in the form of effective old-growth forest protection.

The wilderness areas that Packwork protects in the temperate rainforest are located on Porcher Island on the west coast of Canada. They are the most species-rich ecosystem in the northern hemisphere. Their ancient giant trees provide a safe habitat for an incredible number of animal and plant species.

In Peru, the protected areas are located in the Madre de Dios region, not far from the city of Puerto Maldonado along the Tambopata River. The most species-rich ecosystem on earth can be found here: playful monkeys, mysterious jaguars and liana-covered jungle giants have their habitat here.
Along the Tambopata River there are still dense contiguous areas of rainforest.

What particularly impressed Eagle Wing Tours about Wilderness International was the transparent and concrete use of the donations: 1€ donation protects 1 m2 old-growth forest - forever. Donors receive a certificate with the geo-coordinates and an aerial photo of the protected forest area, as well as a tax-deductible donation receipt.

About Wilderness International
The foundation, which is based in Peru, Canada and Germany, purchases legally secure wilderness areas and protects them for the future.
