On January 27, 2023, the exhibition "AMAZONIA - The Fascination of the Tropical Rainforest" by Yadegar Asisi opened at Panometer Dresden. Visitors can immerse themselves in the colorful and fascinating world of the Amazon and explore the different levels of the rainforest - in life-size. The Panometer is cooperating with Wilderness International so that the desire for the rainforest can be translated directly into donations for its preservation.
About the exhibition: Asisi has created a hyper-realistic art space that shows various geological formations of the tropical rainforest, from mountain rainforests and river plains to clearings and bodies of water, giant trees and wide valleys. The various inhabitants of the rainforest are hidden in this diverse habitat and can be discovered by visitors: carnivorous plants in bright colors, colonies of giant ants or the indigenous population. The cylindrical installation is accompanied by light changes that simulate day and night, a unique soundscape and specially composed music.
