Since 2020, the traditional Dresden-based company Li-iL, known for its "Dresdner Essenz" product range, has been working together with the Wilderness International Foundation on the mission to protect the last primeval forests on our planet.
The joint commitment began with the "My Tree-My Dresden" project, in which 500 trees were planted and 10,880 m² of rainforest in Canada were protected forever with Wilderness International. Li-iL also offsets its own CO2 footprint by protecting old-growth forests through Wilderness International.

Li-iL GmbH für Arzneimittel und Arzneibäder attaches great importance to raw material quality and skin compatibility, and many products are free from animal ingredients and are developed without animal testing. The primeval forests of Western Canada are among the most species-rich ecosystems in the temperate climate zone and are home to wild coastal wolves, mighty bald eagles, rare carnivorous sundew and gigantic primeval forest giants such as maple trees, Alaska cedars and giant arborvitae.
Due to the mild, humid climate and the low human influence, evergreen giant trees grow for up to 2000 years.
As the king of the skies, the bald eagle can reach a wingspan of up to 3 meters.
The temperate rainforest is a unique forest ecosystem. Due to its geographical location, it is not as hot here as in the tropics and you can find different animal and plant species.
The wolves in Canada's rainforest eat salmon like the grizzlies and prove to be quite adept at catching fish.
One fifth of the world's salmon originate in the streams and rivers of the temperate rainforest region of Western Canada and are an important food source for orcas.
If there is plenty to eat, a grizzly mother will give birth to 3-4 cubs in a year.

What particularly impressed Li-iL about Wilderness International was the transparent and specific use of the donations: €1 donation protects 1 m2 of old-growth forest - forever. Donors receive a certificate with the geo-coordinates and an aerial photo of the protected forest area, as well as a tax-deductible donation receipt.

About Wilderness International
The foundation, which is based in Peru, Canada and Germany, purchases legally secure wilderness areas and protects them for the future. The purchases are refinanced through donations, which ensure the long-term protection of the areas, supports environmental education projects, and research into CO2 storage and biodiversity.
