YouTopia 2024 protects forests with Wilderness International
On November 17, influential German creators, environmental experts and other guests from the media, politics, science and culture will join forces in a six-hour livestream with a common goal: to protect as much rainforest as possible with Wilderness International!
The event will be streamed live on YouTube and Twitch from 4 p.m. from the Bauwerk Köln under the motto "Kahlschlag gegen Kahlschlag". The creators will open a hairdressing salon and cut the hair of members of their communities for voluntary donations. The game show will be accompanied by exciting talks and a variety of challenges and shows.

Since 2008, Wilderness International has been buying primeval forests in Canada and Peru that are acutely threatened by deforestation and placing them under permanent protection. Primary rainforests and their swamps and moors are the most species-rich ecosystems and largest CO2 reservoirs on earth - and therefore one of our most important levers against climate change and species extinction. Every euro donated protects one square meter of forest forever. And all donors receive a certificate and geo-coordinates showing exactly and transparently where the piece of forest they are protecting is located.

With the fourth edition of the fundraising event, YouTube creator, presenter and science journalist Jacob Beautemps once again wants to draw attention to some of the most important issues of our time: Climate change, species and environmental protection, and sustainability.
The event is intended to appeal not only to those who are already committed to climate protection, but also to those who have not yet addressed the issue. In addition to important environmental education content, there will also be plenty of fun and entertainment!
The YouTopia hosts have seen for themselves the beauty and diversity of the temperate rainforest in Western Canada.
The four YouTopia hosts Jacob Beautemps ("Breaking Lab"), Felix Michels ("Tomatolix"), Rick Azas and Theresa Kirchner are bringing together prominent guests from science, politics and TV who will participate in the run-up to the event and in the YouTopia program itself. These include, among many other strong voices for nature conservation, Fabian Kahl (known from "Bares für Rares"/ZDF), the Wohllebens, Louisa Schneider, Micha Fritz, Dr. Eckart von Hirschhausen (science journalist and founder of the Healthy Earth - Healthy People Foundation), but also well-known creators such as Nadine Breaty, Alicia Joe, Regina Hixt, Yvonne Pferrer & Jeremy Grube, Rewinside, HeyMoritz, Wurzelwerk and OttoBulletproof. Together, they are supporting the charitable foundation Wilderness International, which protects the last intact habitats - especially the world's rainforests - in the long term, particularly with this year's fundraising campaign.
