Are you looking for a job in sustainable agriculture in Peru?
Wilderness International Peru (WIPERU) is currently responsible for the protection of more than 3000 hectares of primary rainforest in Madre de Dios in Peru. In addition to direct forest protection, we work with the people of the region on sustainable land use projects.
This includes our agroforestry project, in which we maintain an experimental area at our research station and conduct further training with neighboring farmers.
We are currently looking for a new coordinator for this project!
Please send us your application by 20.05.2025 to: chris.kirkby@wilderness-international.org.
Your job
Agroforestry is a sustainable land use practice that is thousands of years old. It combines trees, agricultural crops, and sometimes livestock in an ecologically balanced system. In the tropical rainforests of Latin America, this practice can be traced back to the way of life of Indigenous Peoples who have lived in harmony with the rainforest since time immemorial without over-exploiting it.

If you have experience in sustainable agriculture and enjoy working with communities, you've come to the right place!

On our agroforestry trial area, we test which plants grow best under which conditions - and supply our research and forest guardian station with our own food!

We monitor the growth of the plants in our trial area, but also in the communities, so that we can constantly learn and improve.

Bees, which are extremely important for the pollination of agricultural plants but also for the rainforest, should of course not be missing!
